A few highlights from Eric Stine's show this month at the Firefly.

recent drawings and musings

Still on the figure. I read recently that the majority of brain functions are dedicated to reading other people's facial expressions and emotions.

more of the model

I have started craving my Wednesday night drawing sessions. :)

It took me a little while to get going during this session, been reading a book about why we draw and just finished a chapter on how the brain works as we draw. I kept thinking about all millions of neurons firing and imagining all the different parts of my brain lighting up as I used them. And I never realized what a beautiful machine the act of drawing is before. All the different mechanisms the body and mind do to create a line, the right line.

some schiele

Not much to say in terms of my own artistic progress today, however, I wanted to share some figure drawings by Egon Schiele. As master of the figure, Schiele's use of the line has always made me hyper.

again with the nudes

Tonight's Artlink drawing session totally schooled me, however, I will post for the sake of accountability. :)

I couldn't draw the lady's face because she was looking directly at me in every pose and each time I tried to draw her head her eyes were fluttering around like she wasn't trying to make eye contact with me and it freaked me out. So. No faces.

I really liked the pose below. I wish I would have had more time to work on it. The leg on the right was really great. However, I didn't have quite enough time to finish it.

And, more with the feet.

A couple pieces for the show at Old Crown for Haiti Aid. In the same style as the Orchard Gallery boxes. I am really tiring of this style, but the masses keep demanding it and I, being the machine, keep producing it.
